Kavey

Kavey is a hydration brand built around a simple but competitive idea: that what you drink should work as hard as you do. The product range spans multiple SKUs, each with its own flavor profile and functional benefit, sitting in a market where shelf presence is crowded and brand differentiation is everything. Kavey came to Scale Studios at the earliest stage of their digital journey: no website, no search presence, no established online identity. The brief was to build all of it: a visual experience that matched the ambition of the product, a technical foundation that could support growth, and an SEO strategy that would make the brand findable from day one rather than as an afterthought six months after launch.

The Challenge

Launching a new brand in the functional drinks space means competing against categories with deep pockets and established digital footprints. The risk for a brand like Kavey wasn't the product; it was invisibility. Getting the design right mattered. Getting found mattered just as much.

Making Hydration Feel Like a Lifestyle

The design brief was clear: Kavey shouldn't look like a supplement brand or a generic FMCG product. It should feel like a choice people are proud to make.

We built the visual system around the product range itself:

  • Each SKU was given its own color identity, pulled from the product's flavor profile and applied consistently across the UI

  • Product photography was given full real estate on the hero: no hero banners, no generic stock, no copy fighting for space with the image

  • Typography was set large and confident, echoing the directness of the brand's messaging without veering into aggressive

  • The color-blocking system creates visual energy on the page while keeping the overall experience coherent as the range grows

  • The result is a UI that feels premium without being cold, and energetic without being loud

Performance as a Design Requirement

A visually rich product site can't afford to load slowly, especially when the audience is making quick decisions on mobile. The Kavey build was engineered with performance as a non-negotiable. Asset delivery was optimized for large product imagery across all devices, lazy loading was implemented for below-the-fold content, and the responsive grid holds the design intact from widescreen to mobile without resorting to simplified layouts. Scroll interactions and hover states were implemented to complement the UI without adding unnecessary render weight.

SEO Built Into the Architecture

Too many brand launches treat SEO as a post-launch task. For Kavey, the search strategy was mapped before a single line of code was written. We conducted keyword research across hydration, functional drinks, and wellness search behavior, identifying the terms most likely to drive qualified traffic at each stage of the buying journey. Page structure, URL architecture, and heading hierarchy were all planned around target keyword clusters. Meta titles and descriptions were written as ad copy, crafted to earn the click, not just satisfy the crawler. Internal linking was mapped from the outset to distribute authority across the site from day one.

The Result

A brand-new website that looks the part, loads fast, and earns its place in search, giving Kavey a digital foundation built to grow with the brand.
